About the Len Atkins Project

How It All Began

The Len Atkins Project began with a single idea in 2020. Friends and family came together to honor the life of Len Atkins and to help others facing colorectal cancer. What started as a small fundraiser has grown into a mission of hope, purpose, and impact for families in Middle Tennessee and beyond.

Our First Goal

Our first goal was simple: raise money and awareness for colorectal cancer. At the time, we organized a golf tournament to celebrate Len’s memory and bring attention to the importance of early screening. The event inspired our community, and it showed us how powerful collective action can be. Over the years, the Len Atkins Memorial Golf Tournament has become more than a fundraiser. It is now a day of remembrance, hope, and unity where families, friends, and supporters come together to fight cancer.

Our Partnerships

The work of the Len Atkins Project extends beyond one event. We proudly support organizations doing critical work in the fight against colorectal cancer. Through our fundraising efforts, we partner with Fight Colorectal Cancer, a national nonprofit dedicated to funding research and advancing treatments. We also support Man Up to Cancer, a support group that provides men with resources, community, and chemotherapy backpacks that provide practical comfort items that may include, but not be limited to, a fleece blanket, socks, lip balm and earbuds, during some of the toughest times in their lives. Together, we believe these partnerships help families find both comfort and strength.

Our Mission Today

Our mission continues to grow. We aim to spread awareness, encourage preventive care, and provide hope to those navigating the challenges of cancer. Every story shared, every donation made, and every life touched carries Len’s legacy forward.

Moving Forward with Purpose

The Len Atkins Project started from grief, but today it stands for resilience and purpose. By supporting our work, you join a movement that believes in healing, in honoring loved ones, and in building a brighter future in the fight against colorectal cancer.
